Troubleshooting basics

Last updated 2026-04-24

When something feels off in Rundoo — the page is sluggish, a screen is flashing, a button doesn't respond, the app won't load — nine times out of ten the fix is a browser-level reset, not a Rundoo bug. This Rundoc is the first-line triage ladder: a handful of quick moves to try before you dig into the specific-device troubleshooting pages or call Rundoo Support.

Work the checklist top to bottom. Each step takes under a minute. If the issue clears, stop — you're done. If you hit the bottom and something's still wrong, Support is a phone call away.

Hard-refresh the page

A hard refresh forces the browser to throw out its cached copy of Rundoo and pull a fresh one from our servers. This fixes most "a button isn't working" or "the page looks weird" moments in one keystroke.

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + R

  • Mac: Cmd + Shift + R

If that doesn't do it, close the Rundoo tab entirely, open a brand-new one, and go back to app.rundoo.app. Long-lived tabs can drift into odd states that a fresh tab clears instantly.

Check for browser and OS updates

Rundoo ships changes every week and assumes you're on a current browser. A browser that's a couple of versions behind will start to feel slow, render odd, or stop responding.

In Chrome, open the three-dot menu in the top-right, hover over Help, and click About Google Chrome — it checks for updates and installs them. Restart the browser when prompted. Edge and Safari work similarly. While you're there, let Windows or macOS install any pending OS updates — a stale OS eventually holds the browser back too.

See Browser and OS requirements for what Rundoo supports.

Clear browsing data

If a hard refresh didn't help — especially for flashing screens, a login loop, or pages that won't finish loading — clear your browser's cache and cookies. This purges the stale data the browser is holding onto and forces a clean start.

In Chrome, open the three-dot menu, then Delete browsing data (older Chrome versions call it Clear browsing data). Set the time range to All time, check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, and click Delete data. The process takes 30 seconds to a minute, and you'll be signed out of Rundoo when it finishes — sign back in at app.rundoo.app.

ℹ️

Clearing browsing data signs you out of every other site too (email, banking, everything). That's expected — you'll just sign back in to whatever you use next. Nothing is lost.

Check your connection

If Rundoo still won't load, the problem may be your internet, not your browser. Open google.com in a new tab — if that doesn't load either, your network dropped. Restart the router (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in, wait two minutes) and try again. If your wifi is spotty or disconnects keep happening mid-sale, Connectivity troubleshooting has the full ladder — including how to tether off a phone hotspot if your internet's down.

Disable Bluetooth on Windows (sign-in prompt gotcha)

On Windows computers with Bluetooth enabled, Rundoo's sign-in prompt asks you to pick a login method — even if you're just using a regular sign-in. Disabling the Bluetooth adapter skips that prompt and goes straight to the login you want. This is a Windows Hello quirk, not a Rundoo thing.

Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button → Device Manager), expand the Bluetooth section, right-click the main Bluetooth adapter, and choose Disable device. The prompt disappears on your next sign-in.

⚠️

Only do this if you don't use Bluetooth for anything else on that computer — disabling the adapter turns off Bluetooth system-wide. If you use a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse, or headset on that machine, skip this step.

Restart the computer

If nothing above worked, close everything and restart the machine. This clears out memory that builds up over long sessions and resolves a surprising number of "the browser feels stuck" cases. Do it between customers, not mid-rush.

When to call Support

If you've worked the checklist and something's still wrong — or if you're seeing something weird that doesn't match any of the moves above — reach out to Rundoo Support. We'd rather hear from you early than have you fight the product for an hour.

  • Phone: (650) 334-3205

  • Chat: Support button in the header, then Chat with support

  • Email: support@rundoo.ai

When you reach out, a quick screenshot or a Loom video of what you're seeing helps us diagnose twice as fast. For the full rundown of how to reach us and when, see Rundoo Support.
