Setting up your barcode scanner

  1. Get your scanner. Please identify the brand and model of your scanner. If you do not have any scanners please refer to our Links to Order Hardware.
    1. Note that we have started using the new Zebra DS2278 model vs. the Zebra LS4278 which is a discontinued model

  1. Configure to the default settings below by printing the guide and scanning the QR code at the top.

    1. Default Settings:
      1. Have a “|” on either side
      2. Medium beeper volume

  2. Confirm scanning prefixes & suffixes with “|”

    With your cursor focused on any input outside of Rundoo (e.g. a document, Google search input, the URL bar of your browser, etc.), scan any barcode. Confirm the output is prefixed & suffixed with “|”. In other words, if the barcode number was 0123456789, we’d expect to see |0123456789|.

    If the output does not match, please rescan the QR code in the configuration doc above. If it’s still not working, check our FAQs for troubleshooting below. If it’s still not working call (650) 334-3205 for help troubleshooting.

  3. Test it out with Rundoo!

    Go to your Rundoo POS & ensure barcode scanning works by scanning products into a sale. If things seem to be working, you’re all set! If not, call (650) 334-3205 for help troubleshooting.

Setting up your scanner to work with a Mobile Device, Tablets, and Phones

Print the Guide below and follow the steps to connect your scanner to your mobile device, your Scanner will still need to be connected to a power source via USB to charge the scanner.
