Step 1: Start a new count on your computer
So, how do you count inventory in Rundoo? Begin a count in a new section called Counts, located in the Inventory section of the sidebar.

Select whether the count is a:
- Full count — All products are “To do.” If you select this option, the on-hand number of any product you do not count will be set to 0 at the end of this type of count.
- Cycle count — Choose which products are “To do,” either now or later as you count (some call this a “spot check”). This will not affect the on-hand number for items you do not count.
- If it’s a cycle count, you can add products! You can do this as “Rule” - meaning selecting a specific vendor, department, class or fineline or by “Product” - meaning manually adding specific products
- You also don’t have to select products! You can begin scanning in directly on your phone.

Step 2: Count on your phone
Now it’s time to start counting. You can do this by carrying around a laptop or clipboard like normal. Or… 🥁🥁🥁 you can count on the Mobile POS!
-
Open your count in the Inventory tab, find the Count that you created on Desktop.
-
Scan items and input the count.
- If an item does not have a barcode, you can search and add the count manually. Click the “hamburger” icon in the top right corner to start searching for a product.
-
Open your count in the Inventory tab, find the Count that you created on Desktop.
